Pampatar Lighthouse
On the outskirts of the town of Pampatar and rising over the area of La Caranta, stands "Faro de Pampatar". As both a working naval base and a scenic viewpoint, the lighthouse offers one of the most spectacualr outlooks on the island with a 360 panoramic view.
Climb to the top to witness a landscape of mountains and beaches set on the Caribbean Sea, a perfect photo opportunity.
Faro de Pampatar is open every day of the week from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm and features a gift shop on the ground floor for handicrafted souvenirs.
Just a short trip from Pampatar, follow the road past la Caranta to the left and continue past the "Faro" signs.
As the home of the Institute of Hydrography and a Venezuelan navy post, "Faro de Pampatar" is well worth a look !
